In the meticulous execution of Studio Moren's concept, the delivery of a new hotel within the revered confines of the World Heritage Site and the City Character area of Bath Conservation Area emerges.
Drawing upon a deep understanding of Bath's architectural legacy, the building stands as a testament to the delicate balance between preservation and progress. Every aspect of its design, from the selection of materials to the integration of modern technology, has been meticulously curated to seamlessly blend with the historic fabric of Avon Street and James Street West.
The façade, a masterful interplay of texture and proportion, reflects a commitment to quality craftsmanship and timeless elegance. Clad predominantly in locally sourced stone, the building exudes a sense of permanence and belonging, its warm hues resonating with the timeless beauty of Bath's iconic structures.
Chamfered recess detailing adorns the façade, adding depth and dimension to its surface while paying homage to the classical architectural proportions that define the cityscape. Contemporary angled metal-clad dormers, strategically positioned and set back to break up the form, serve as focal points of visual interest, their sleek lines echoing the juxtaposition of tradition and innovation inherent in Bath's architectural vernacular.
The building's confident identity reveals itself, a beacon of contemporary sophistication amidst a tapestry of timeless Bath. Its restrained approach and limited palette exude a sense of quiet confidence, inviting passersby to pause and marvel at the harmony achieved between past and present.
In the annals of Bath's architectural legacy, this new hotel stands as a shining example of enlightened design, a testament to the enduring power of architecture to inspire and enrich Bath.
