This building reinterprets a traditional Irish Clachan with a modern twist. The design features a series of single-room depth cottages, each positioned close to its neighbor and connected by contemporary glazed infills.
The arrangement of these buildings serves two primary purposes. Firstly, it ensures that each room enjoys the site's spectacular views. Secondly, the layout acts as a natural barrier, separating the public front of the house from the private rear, which is oriented to maximize sunlight. Simple materials and detailing were used to create this modern cottage dwelling, blending tradition with modernity seamlessly.
By combining traditional Irish design with modern architectural elements, this building provides a harmonious balance of simplicity, functionality, and beauty.
